A Familiar Face Returns to St Mirren!
St Mirren FC has some exciting news for its fans! We are thrilled to welcome Allan Campbell, a talented midfielder, on a short-term contract until the end of the season. This move marks our first signing of the January transfer window, and we couldn't be more delighted.
At 27 years old, Allan brings a wealth of experience to our team. He began his journey at Motherwell, where he crossed paths with our very own manager, Stephen Robinson. During his time with the Steelmen from 2016 to 2021, Allan made a remarkable 160 appearances, showcasing his skills and potential.
But here's where it gets interesting... Allan's career took an exciting turn when he ventured south to join Luton Town. He played a pivotal role in their promotion to the English Premier League during the 2022/23 season, a feat that earned him his one and only Scotland cap in a memorable 4-1 victory over Armenia.
And this is the part most people miss... Allan's journey didn't stop there. He had loan spells at Millwall and Charlton Athletic, adding another 29 appearances to his impressive resume. His time in England was a testament to his adaptability and talent.
In January 2025, Allan returned to his Scottish roots, joining Dundee United for a brief but impactful stint. He made 13 appearances, helping the Terrors secure a respectable fourth-place finish in the William Hill Premiership.
Now, Allan will don the number 16 jersey for St Mirren for the remainder of the season. In an exclusive interview with stmirren.com, Allan expressed his excitement, saying, "I know the manager well. He believed in me and gave me my big break. When the chance arose to play under him again, I jumped at the opportunity."
Allan continued, "I'm eager to get back on the pitch. I love the game, but it's tough when you're on the sidelines. Being back with the team has been great. I take pride in my fitness and hard work off the pitch, so I'm ready to make an impact when called upon."
