Imagine a robot the size of a car, roaming the barren landscape of Mars, accidentally smashing open a rock and uncovering a secret hidden for millions of years. This is exactly what happened to NASA's Curiosity rover, and what it found inside was nothing short of astonishing.
Launched in 2011, Curiosity has been our tireless explorer on the Red Planet, challenging long-held beliefs about Mars, including the presence of water. But in May 2024, it stumbled upon something truly unexpected—and it was entirely by chance. While navigating the Martian terrain, Curiosity inadvertently cracked open a rock, revealing a treasure trove of glowing yellow crystals.
