During his recruitment process, Joseph attracted attention from several prominent programs across various power conferences, including interest from two SEC teams: the Florida Gators and the Georgia Bulldogs. Additionally, the Florida State Seminoles were also in the mix, and at one point, Joseph was committed to play under head coach Mike Norvell. Ultimately, however, he chose to play for Georgia Tech, representing a significant acquisition for the Yellow Jackets at that time.
