Ada Clooney Zeidler's Funeral Service Set for Monday
The family of Ada Clooney Zeidler, the beloved sister of actor George Clooney, is grieving her passing. Ada, who lost her battle with cancer on Friday, December 19, 2025, will be laid to rest in a private interment at St. Patrick Cemetery in Washington, Kentucky. The funeral service will take place on Monday, December 22, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maysville, with Rev. Augustine Aidoo officiating.
Ada, born on May 2, 1960, in Los Angeles, California, was the only child of Nick and Nina Clooney. Her brother, George, was born a year later in Lexington, Kentucky, where their father worked as a TV and radio newsman. Ada's family moved around, eventually settling in Augusta, Kentucky, in the mid-1970s, not far from her father's hometown of Maysville.
Ada's obituary highlights her remarkable life. She was a talented artist, teaching elementary art at Augusta Independent School for several years. Her academic achievements in high school earned her the title of National Merit Scholar. Ada's love for reading brought her together with fellow book enthusiasts in a local book club, and she was an active member of the Augusta Art Guild. She also left her mark as a past grand marshal of Augusta's Annual White Christmas Parade.
On March 14, 1987, Ada married Norman Zeidler, a retired U.S. Army captain. They welcomed two children, Nick Zeidler and Allison Zeidler Herolaga, and built a life together in Augusta. Norman passed away on October 11, 2004.
Ada is survived by her parents, Nick and Nina Clooney, her children, and their families, as well as her brother, George Clooney, and his wife, Amal. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Knoedler Memorial Library in Augusta, Kentucky, to honor Ada's legacy.
